Born in 1946 in the city of Cartago. Began his studies of painting in 1965. Rojas entered Bellas Artes of the University of Costa Rica in 1967, studied and finished Bellas Artes.
Impressionism is a notable feature in Rojas' paintings, although the subject matter is evident.
His abstract paintings stand out as being conscious of space, surface, and color.
The images are always vigorous, energy-charged renditions of his beautiful country.
The viewer is able to feel the humidity of the swollen clouds, the crispness of the first stream of light after the storm breaks, and see the swirling hues as if caught in nature's phenomena.
